Meet Our Volunteer Coordinator Heather Hourigan
For over two years, I’ve had the privilege of serving as a Volunteer Coordinator at LoveWell. I’m passionate about building relationships and helping volunteers find purpose in the way they serve. One of the parts of my role I’m most proud of is connecting volunteers with patients through companionship visits—creating space for meaningful moments that bring comfort, connection, and joy. Being able to witness those moments firsthand is what makes this work so special to me.
Volunteering The Happy Effect
By volunteering with LoveWell Hospice, you make A big difference in the lives of patients and families.
Giving in even simple ways can help others and improve your health and happiness. Helping others can help reduce stress, combat depression, keep you mentally stimulated and provide a sense of purpose. According to research, seniors that help others live approximately 7 years longer.
What is Required To Be A Volunteer?
Volunteers are the heart of LoveWell Hospice. To help you feel confident and supported, we guide you through simple onboarding steps—paperwork, a TB test, and compassionate training with our Volunteer Coordinator.
